Quick Update. No pics!

Sorry for my absence, I've been so busy.

Um.... So quick update on one subject: Halloween.

Halloween obviously is a time when people dress up as something they are not. I'm going as a gonguro and I'm certainly NOT a gonguro. Basic knowledge. Trick-or-treating is a tradition that happens on halloween. Again that is basic knowledge. People are trying to make a rule saying you can't trick-or-treat over twelve years old.

My opinion: I think if you want to trick-or-treat you want to. I think this is a petty idiotic rule that needs to be just set aside. Discriminating someone because of their age is one of the most unfair things I've heard. I really hope people understand that this is really stupid and if you see a teenager, give them candy if they aren't doing anything stupid.

So that is my quick update. I'll be back with more and I wish you a Happy SAFE Halloween.

Vogue vs. TeenVogue

Grrrrrr. My space bar key isn't working correctly!

Sorry about that. Anyways I decided to dedicate this article to Vogue, and its younger sister TeenVogue. Today I am going to do a bit of comparing and contrasting of the two mags so I hope you enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I already said there is going to be some comparing and contrasting and obviously some of it is a no brainer, obviously TeenVogue is going to be for a younger audience than Vogue but let's go deeper.

Just by looking at it you see the difference in size. Vogue is big while TeenVogue is much smaller. And please excuse my friend's *ahem* art work on Justin Bieber's face. He isn't really too fond of Bieber.

Now into the internal features.

Vogue has millions of ads.

Millions and billions of ads. At the beginning you have to flip through forty pages of ads, and I'm not exaggerating. TeenVogue didn't have nearly as many.

I don't like how TeenVogue is similar to Seventeen magazine except with more expensive products. Seriously, if I wanted all this bubblegummy mainstream I could've just went to Seventeen, because I could really care less about what Rihanna is wearing right now. This october issue really isn't that good. The only article that really captured me was the bullying article.

Not to mention the only article that was 100% high fashion were the Most Likely To Succeed photos.

Vogue on the other hand really captured me with their fashion articles. You just have to get past all of those freaking ads.

Vogue has real high fashion stuff in it.Yes, it has celebrities in it but I don't get the feeling "what the celebs are wearing" is being shoved down my throat like I feel when I read TeenVogue.

The contents in TeenVogue are based on some of them in Vogue only it is made for teens. The People Are Talking about section is a lot longer in Vogue than it is in TeenVogue.

Just look at the comparision in the Theater sections. One is like a page long and the other is a stub.

But like Vogue, TeenVogue features MEGA EXPENSIVE STUFF IN IT! TeenVogue and Vogue is more eyecandy than "Ooooh I want that!" But TeenVogue and Vogue give you a trained eye on what to look for. I mean seriously I can't afford a $600 skirt , but I can find something that sort of matches it and sport it.

Overall
Same:
Expensive Items

Difference:
Layout
Size
TeenVogue is very teenager-ish
Vogue's articles are better
TeenVogue is a lot shorter and easier to read

Final Opinion:
Vogue is better.

Please remember these are just my opinions and not a universal fact.

High School Idiocy+Update on what's happening for October.

Hello there! This post is going to be a little ranty, so if you don't like rants then this isn't a post for you.

As you know I am in high school and idiocy is everywhere. One thing that vexes me to no end is freshman sterotypes. Freshmen are weird, freshmen are stupid, freshmen are totally immature-- BS. Not every freshman is like that. Today someone kept making freshman jokes to the point I had to scold them. Don't get me wrong I don't get into a butthurt--I think freshman jokes are funny to an extent-- but after a while it gets old real quick.

Another thing is this elitism, seriously. When you graduate high school and get out into the real world, how popular you were in high school doesn't matter. Will you get a job just because you were mega popular? Don't get me wrong, I have friends-- I have plenty, but it's high school don't be such an elitist.

I also cannot stand when people automatically predict I'm going to get fat because I'm not in any physical education or sport. I've been loosing weight and I'm not in any physical education or sport! I just eat less and that doesn't mean I'm starving myself. JUST EATING LESS! So stop trying to start crap, because eating disorders and diets are different.

This list goes on and on, and I don't even want to get into all the specifics (I don't want to sound like some ranty teenager) but I just had to get all my anger out. So I'm done with that little tid bit of a rant, so onto October events.

Teenvogue's Electro Love+Where to buy!

I was reading TeenVogue and I spotted something that really caught my eye-- along with the bullying article (very powerful article, by the way). I spotted that electro look that was popular around 2008 when this whole 80s craze was around. I seriously thought we were done with the 80s and we were moving into the 60s as seen in places like the Elle Girl blog.

Anyways I see TeenVogue put out a directory for you, but I took it upon myself to create a directory of more affordable things for you. So those are below and I really hope they help. <3

Leggings:
American Apperal has some pretty cool leggings especially these and these.

Socks (Layering the socks)
I really love the ones here because they are perfect for the neonness and hello, they glow-in-the-dark. If you don't like glow-in-th-dark for some odd reason here are some that are neon, but don't glow.

Shoes (The second pair of shoes are for men, beware):
Click Me
And Me
Converse are always perfect for this, and I love that you can get them custom made.

Skirt and Dress:
I am really loving American Apperal right now :) So here is one that caught my eye, and this eBay shop I found that has clothing that fits the occasion. If you don't like eBay, there is always this shop, but last and not
least the obvious is Hot Topic.

Questions for you:
1. Do you like the electro style?
2. Did this article help you? If not what can I do to improve?
